A friendly two-room pub right beside Cattal railway station, pouring the house Balky's Best Bitter brewed nearby at Rudgate along with a rotating guest. The pub says plainly that it does not cater for dogs inside, but the beer garden is a lovely spot and dogs are more than welcome there. Genuinely useful if you are arriving by train from York or Harrogate with a dog.
