A long-standing town-centre pub at 6 West Laithe Gate, a couple of minutes from the Frenchgate interchange and the market, listed by Greene King as a historic pub with sports screens and free wifi. Its own dog-friendly page promises a bowl of nought per cent waiting for your dog, the odd treat from the bar, and asks only that dogs stay on a lead and off the furniture. Dogs are welcome in the pub and bar areas at the manager's discretion rather than being confined to a yard, so a wet dog after the Don riverside path at North Bridge can come in and lie down. It is a busy town pub, so a quiet corner is easier in the afternoon than on a match night. The wording is published by Greene King for this pub rather than by the licensee.
