Directions to the start →

Three and a half miles there and back, an easy hour and three quarters on a hard level bank between reedbed, brackish lagoon and saltmarsh, ending on a mile of open beach with the wreck of the SS Vina offshore. It starts at the RSPB car park on the A149 at Titchwell, PE31 8BB, which is signed and metalled, with the visitor centre and toilets at the entrance. Dogs are allowed on leads on the West Bank Path, which is a public footpath, but are excluded from the Fen, East, Meadow and Autumn trails; the RSPB asks for leads at all times including on the beach to avoid disturbing feeding and nesting birds, and provides water bowls and dog waste bins.

THE SMALL PRINTDogs on leads are allowed only on the West Bank Path, which is a public footpath. They are excluded from the Fen Trail, East Trail, Meadow Trail and Autumn Trail except for assistance dogs. The RSPB asks that dogs are kept on a lead at all times, including on the beach.
