This Grade II-listed cottage is quietly set in the grounds of a 16th century manor house in a secluded coastal location on the edge of Exmoor and the popular seaside town of Minehead. Enjoy Minehead s wide sandy beach an array of cafes restaurants pubs shops and family entertainments. Visit the stunning medieval Exmoor village of Dunster (0.5 mile) with its castle shops tea rooms pubs and restaurants. Nearby are a wealth of beaches pretty villages and attractions that include Watchet (8 miles) Porlock (7 miles) and Blue Anchor (4 miles) plus you can get away from it all in the awe-inspiring landscape of Exmoor National Park. Enter this character cottage into a light and airy lounge which is made for relaxing in with a Smart TV access to your own private garden and comfy seating. Two steps down take you into the well-equipped kitchen/diner which has fabulous views across the lawn of the Manor House and all the facilities you could need to cook a delicious family meal. From here head up the open spindled spiral staircase to the master double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Head outside from the lounge to the private enclosed garden here you will find a seating area which is a lovely spot for al fresco dining. We regret no children or babes in arms as the property has a spiral staircase. There is also a shared 2-acre sub-tropical garden filled with mature palm trees named exotic plants and shrubs there are quiet corners with seating a secret garden and giant outdoor chess.The gardens also boast views over the West Somerset Steam Railway and across the Bristol Channel to the Welsh coast. Enjoy the communal fire pit with giant marshmallows for toasting. Come and feed the goats and sheep in the 2 acre paddock and say hello to the miniature Shetland pony. Dog walks abound straight from the cottage door and with a dog wash area and towels provided you know your 4 legged friend will have a fabulous time too. The jewel in this wonderful garden is a heated outside swimming pool set in its own walled area with poolside furniture. Need to know: 1 double bedroom. 1 en suite bathroom with shower and WC. limited headroom in the shower room for taller guests. Hairdryer. Electric hob and oven, microwave and fridge with ice compartment. Shared utility room with freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer (honesty box). Local toiletries and local tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided. Smart TV / DVD/DAB Radio in the lounge. Wi Fi throughout. Dog crate available, water bowls, towels, wash off area and treats. Private enclosed garden with seating. Access to a shared 2 acre sub tropical garden with a secret garden and outdoor chess,. Charcoal BBQ available. 1 private parking space directly outside of the property. Bikes can be stored securely and have a dedicated wash off area. Shared outdoor swimming pool (Heated May September open 10am 6pm) The pool is also available for cold water swimming October April by appointment. The pool has steps at the shallow end but please note there is no ladder or handrail. 2 acre paddock with goats (oats to feed the goats provided), sheep and a miniature Shetland pony. Communal Fire Pit with unlimited logs and giant marshmallows. Beach 1.5 miles, shops 1 mile and pub within walking distance. Regretfully babies or children are not permitted.
