Local villages within a 4-mile radius have pubs serving local beers and ales bakeries tea rooms and independent shops. For alternative outdoor fun Askham open-air swimming pool (seasonal) is 13 miles away. For interesting days out head to Pooley Bridge and Ullswater (within 20 miles). Historic Appleby (7 miles) and Kirkby Stephen (21 miles) have some lovely historic buildings castle shops cafes pubs and restaurants. On entering the property via the rear hallway you will find a useful cloakroom with lots of storage for your coats boots and shoes which also provides space for your canine friend. There is a utility room opposite with downstairs WC washing machine and dryer.
