Our drawing of the route — the shape of the walk, not a navigation aid. Carry OS Explorer on the hill.
A flat two and a quarter mile circuit of the Tees between two crossings, starting from the Tees Barrage on Tees Barrage Way. It runs west along the Thornaby bank past the white water course, crosses the river on the Infinity Bridge, comes back along the north bank and returns over the barrage itself. All tarmac and all lit, which makes it one of the few walks round here that still works after dark in January. The white water course releases water without much warning, so keep dogs off the concrete slipways, and there is no seasonal restriction of any kind on this stretch.
