Open medieval common land beside Cod Beck, reached from Sowerby's elegant tree-lined Front Street, and the default daily dog walk for Thirsk and Sowerby. Riverside grass paths link into a roughly three-mile circular between the two settlements. The Flatts are still working pasture where cattle and sheep graze, so keep dogs on leads around stock.
