Roadside on the village street at South Dalton only - a dozen considerate spaces, no bays and no charge. Etton has similar and no more. The nearest proper car park is the free Hudson Way one at Kiplin

St Mary's at South Dalton carries a two-hundred-foot spire visible from half the Wolds, and the Minster Way - the fifty-mile pilgrim route from Beverley Minster to York Minster - runs straight past it. This circuit leaves the church down the estate street, crosses the parkland and lake of the Dalton Hall estate on rights of way, drops into Etton past the micropub on Main Street, and comes back over the wold on green lanes and headland tracks. It is estate country: sheep and cattle on the park grass, game cover on the shoulders, and a shoot working the woods from October to the end of January. Nothing here is access land, so the marked paths are the whole of your right to be there.

Around farm animals and horses it must be on a lead, and on a short lead in fields with sheep. No Public Spaces Protection Order applies to this route; the council's dog orders here cover only fenced children's play areas, school grounds, listed churchyards and cemeteries, and four named beaches on the coast. The Dalton Hall estate parkland is private land crossed by public rights of way, grazed by sheep and cattle and shot over from October to the end of January, so a dog that hunts is better on a lead through the winter and lead up on sight of stock at any time.
