Quiet family-run caravan and camping park in old walled hay meadows just above Hawes, with big Wensleydale views. Well-behaved dogs are most welcome but must be kept on a lead around the park, which sits amid working sheep pasture. Pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes plus a handful of pods; open April to October.

Walk SOME LIMITS

Hawes, Gayle and Aysgill Force

DL8 3NT
3.5 MI · 1H 45M · 90% OFF-ROAD

Three and a half miles with only 91 metres of climbing, an hour and three quarters on flagged field paths and walled tracks beside Gayle Beck to the forty-foot drop of Aysgill Force. Start from the car park at the Dales Countryside Museum and National Park Centre in Hawes, which is also the bus interchange for the Little White Bus and the DalesBus. A modest, sheltered walk that suits an older dog on a warm day, with the beck alongside for most of it and cascades in Gayle village itself, but the fields are grazed, several wall crossings are narrow stone squeeze stiles, and the lip above Aysgill Force is unfenced.
