Gwynver Beach
Sennen's wilder northern neighbour, reached down a long flight of steps from the cliff and cut off from the main beach at high tide. It is not among the beaches covered by Cornwall Council's dogs-on-beaches order, so dogs can use it year round at any hour. Strong rips and no lifeguard cover outside the season, so keep a dog out of the surf.
Gwynver Beach from Sennen Cove
A short two and a half miles north along Whitesand Bay to the surf beach at Gwynver and back over the fields, an easy hour and a quarter with 100 metres of climbing. It uses the same Sennen Cove car parks, and at low tide most of the outward leg can be walked on hard sand instead of the coast path above. Gwynver has no seasonal dog restriction of its own, which makes it the obvious August beach here while Sennen is closed, but the steps down are steep, the surf is powerful and the clifftop path between the two is unfenced.

Step inside this bijou two-person retreat and you ll be welcomed by a cosy and open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Wonderful original features can be found throughout and create a traditional rural feel including lovely exposed wooden flooring and beams and a raised stone platform beneath the charming wood burner. Unwind on the sofa with the fire creating a cosy atmosphere and your favourite series playing on the Smart TV. The well-equipped kitchen area is a great place to cook in and has a washer/dryer to make your stay easy and comfortable. Finally a traditional bedroom with a brand new king sized bed and a lovely bathroom with a shower over the bath complete this beautiful country escape. Spend time outside in the enclosed garden surrounded by picturesque countryside views there s seating laid out so you can share a meal or drinks out here on a warm starry evening. You can also meet the resident farm animals the owners keep goats hens and ponies which guests are welcome to visit. Need to know: 1 king sized bed. 1 bathroom with shower over the bath and a WC. Oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and washer dryer. Welcome pack. Wood burner (first basket of logs included Oct Mar). Smart TV. Beaches within 4 miles, pub and shop 1 mile. The newly added fire pit area in the orchard provides the perfect place to toast marshmallows and stargaze. Private parking for 2 cars.
