Seascale
RIGHT NOW (JUL) · OPEN — AND EVERY OTHER MONTH TOO

A long, flat sweep of sand below the sea wall and the old railway station, with the Isle of Man visible on a clear evening and dunes at the north end. There is no seasonal dog ban here, which makes it one of the more useful summer beaches in west Cumbria.

THE SMALL PRINTNo seasonal ban on the beach. Cumberland Council Public Spaces Protection Order (No. 1) 2024 excludes dogs from the Seascale play area (CA20 1RB) and the land at Gosforth (CA20 1AY), and requires dogs on leads at St Joseph's and St Cuthbert's churchyards. Breach is an offence liable to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale.
