Hike to the Catbells (2.5 miles) on the western shore or try water scrambling at Stoneycroft Ghyll (2.5 miles). Whizz from the treetops at Whinlatter Forest (3.5 miles) or take a leisurely walk around Borrowdale (4.5 miles) a great backdrop for holiday photos with Ashness Bridge and the aptly named Surprise View. Or explore lively Keswick (1 mile) where you ll find a wealth of shops pubs and eateries along with an art cinema theatre and pencil museum. Step inside and kick off your hiking boots in the hallway before walking through to the rest of the accommodation decorated in a farmhouse style. Settle in for a cup of tea and chat in the living room which has two cosy sofas slate floors a selection of books and the perfect armchair to curl up in with your favourite book - stay warm from the heat of the cosy wood burner. Or plan film evenings here on the TV with Sky a DVD player and soundbar. Cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen which features an electric fan oven with ceramic hobs fridge/freezer microwave and dishwasher there s also a breakfast table for informal dining and morning coffees while the dining room has a large table and chairs by a vintage dresser. A handy utility room houses a washing machine tumble dryer heated towel rail drying rail sink and extra storage space for sports gear or a dog bed. Step outside to the cosy garden patio with seating to the rear of the property please note there is a right of way through the garden for neighbours. Off-road parking is available for one car with an additional space for a carefully parked car outside the house. There s a shop and pub with food within half a mile of the property.
