A roadside pub on Beverley Road in Middleton on the Wolds, on the B1248 between Beverley and Driffield and the last stop before the lane climbs west to Kiplingcotes and the high wold. Middleton is a working farming village rather than a picture-postcard one, and this is where the walkers, the shooting parties and the locals all end up.
