Cumbria Wildlife Trust's northern office sits on a small organic working farm two miles north of Carlisle, named after a beck that runs down to the Eden, and the public and permissive paths through it are open to walk. The circuit takes in the wildlife garden, boardwalks across the wet ground, pasture and a strip of woodland, and it is short and level enough for a dog that has had enough of pavements. Cattle graze the pasture as part of the management, which is why the lead rule exists rather than being decorative. Houghton Road buses from Carlisle stop near the entrance.
