A large estate local on Royston Lane with a main bar, a long narrow lounge with the television over the fireplace, and a quieter room at the back which is where you would sit with a dog. Cask ale came back here in early 2026 after years without it. There is a garden and its own car park, and it sits on the road out towards Royston Common and the old Barnsley Canal line at Cold Hiendley. CAMRA's Barnsley branch surveyors record it as dog friendly; the pub publishes no dog policy of its own.
