Our drawing of the route — the shape of the walk, not a navigation aid. Carry OS Explorer on the hill.
North out of Manfield from Town Green on the field path towards the Tees, as far as the wooded dip of Manfield Gill, then back south-east and down Glebe Lane into the village. It is a flat, quiet round of about a mile and a half through arable country, with the gill itself the only shade and the only real interest for a dog. There is no seasonal ban and no lead order, so a reliable recall dog can be off the lead on the field path, but the fouling offence still applies at £50 fixed penalty in the Richmondshire area. Glebe Lane brings you back past the Crown Inn at the end.
