Low Hall Wood & the Nidd at Dacre Banks

A two-and-a-half-mile hour-long loop from the village down to the River Nidd, through Low Hall Wood and back on field paths, with only about 20 metres of climb and a couple of gates rather than awkward stiles. Park considerately on the main street in Dacre Banks near the Royal Oak; the 24 bus between Harrogate and Pateley Bridge stops in the village, which makes this an easy one without a car. The wood is a good spot to let a reliable dog stretch out, but the field sections are grazed by sheep so leads go on at the gates, and the riverbank gives a safe shallow drink.
