Londesborough Park is the ghost of a great house - the Burlington mansion was pulled down in 1819 and the Yorkshire Wolds Way now runs straight through the parkland that outlived it, past the lakes and the veteran limes on the old carriage drive. This circuit starts by All Saints church in the village, drops through the park to the fish ponds, then climbs the wold edge towards Towthorpe and returns along a green lane with the whole Vale of York laid out to the west. The parkland is grazed by sheep and cattle and the public right of way is the only access, so this is lead country the moment stock is in sight. There is no car park, only the village street, and the estate roads are private.

Around farm animals and horses it must be on a lead, and on a short lead in fields with sheep. No Public Spaces Protection Order applies to this route; the council's dog orders here cover only fenced children's play areas, school grounds, listed churchyards and cemeteries, and four named beaches on the coast. The park is private estate land crossed by public rights of way, so the legal position off the marked paths is trespass, and stock grazes the parkland year round.
