A plain three-star hotel on Shude Hill at the bottom of the city, between Fitzalan Square and the Castlegate cutting, with lifts, hard-floored corridors and its own car park. Accor's own page for the hotel lists pets welcome among the hotel services, though it names no charge and does not say which rooms take dogs, so confirm at booking. The rooms are small and simple with wipeable floors rather than deep carpet, which is easier after a wet walk. The planted Grey to Green route along Castlegate is at the door and the Five Weirs Walk along the Don starts at Victoria Quays five minutes downhill, which matters for the last walk of the night.
