Goathland Station Tea Rooms is a real restaurant in Goathland, and it is here so you know it exists. But we have not been able to find a dog policy for it that we would stand behind, so we are not going to guess at one. No verdict, no stamp, no date.

If this is your business, tell us whether dogs are welcome and we will put a stamp on it — free, and it stays free. Claim this page.

If you have been and you know the answer, tell us and we will go and confirm it.

Goathland and Grosmont Railway Circular

YO22 5AN
7.8 MI · 3H 24M · 85% OFF-ROAD

A 7.8-mile circuit with 180 metres of ascent and around three and a half hours, dropping to Beck Hole, following the 1836 rail trail down to Grosmont and climbing back over the fields; the rail trail is a firm cinder bed but the return above Green End is boggy at the field corners. Start on Goathland village green, where the roadside parking fills by ten on a summer weekend, or ride up on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway from Grosmont and walk the loop back downhill. The Murk Esk runs alongside for miles and there are safe places to get in, the rail trail is wide and traffic-free, but sheep wander freely across the green and the moor road at Goathland and there are two working level crossings at Grosmont.

Mallyan Spout & Beck Hole

2.8 MI · 1H 45M · 95% OFF-ROAD

A 2.8-mile circular from Goathland village to Mallyan Spout, at 70 feet the tallest waterfall in the North York Moors, then on through the wooded West Beck valley to the hamlet of Beck Hole and back along the old 1836 railway trackbed. Keep dogs on leads around the sheep that roam Goathland's greens and the surrounding pasture; the riverside stretch is rocky and slippery after rain, with some steep steps. The Birch Hall Inn at Beck Hole is the classic halfway treat.

Mallyan Spout Hotel

A creeper-covered hotel on Goathland's green, right at the head of the path down to the Mallyan Spout waterfall. The Spout Bar and the gardens are properly dog friendly and serve pub food all day, so you can eat with the dog rather than around it.
