Clifftop paths above Filey Brigg, where 150 million years of geology juts into the sea beside the remains of a Roman signal station — this is the coastal trailhead of the Cleveland Way. The county's official guide calls it an excellent spot for dog walking, kite flying and bird watching.

THE SMALL PRINTCliffside paths — keep dogs and children well supervised near the edges.
