A three-roomed village pub at 96 Uppergate Road in Stannington, on the ridge between the Rivelin and Loxley valleys and an obvious finish to a Rivelin Valley Trail walk up the Hagg side. The lounge keeps its old prints and a fireplace hung with brasses, and the interior is largely as a 1962 refit left it, which puts it on CAMRA's Local Inventory of historic pub interiors; there is a real fire, a garden and parking. Bradfield Farmers Blonde plus three guests and a proper food menu. Dog friendly per CAMRA's survey dated 19 February 2021 rather than the pub's own words.
