A 3.4-mile circular of about an hour and three quarters down to the sands, north along the bay and up through the National Trust woods onto Knipe Point, returning over Osgodby Hill, with 145 metres of climbing and two long flights of wooden steps. Start at the Cayton Bay car park off the A165, where there is a barrier car park by the surf shop and free parking on the stub of the old road, with the number 12 bus stopping on the main road. Cayton Bay is open to dogs all year and there is a beck across the sands to drink from, but the woods are steep and slippery, the clifftop at Knipe Point is actively slipping with houses lost to it, and a short link follows the A165 verge.

THE SMALL PRINTKnipe Point is an active landslip and the clifftop there is fenced off in places and unfenced in others, so dogs must be on the lead on the headland. A short link between the woods and Osgodby Lane follows the verge of the A165, which is fast and busy.
