Daytime cafe and courtyard in the middle of Warkworth, good for breakfast before the castle opens. It is dog friendly, but the dog-friendly tables are a limited set: say you have a dog when you reserve, because they are subject to availability. The courtyard is the pleasanter half in fine weather.
These are the parts only the business can add. We check the dog policy and stamp the date — photos, prices and their own words are theirs to put in, and this listing is waiting for them.
The room, the terrace, the table the dog fits under.
A few dishes and what they cost.
Can the dog actually sleep here, and what does it cost.
Inside or terrace only, and whether that changes at lunch.
Claiming fills every box above, and lets you reply to reviews when they open. £15 a month, no contract, and it never changes the verdict — the stamp stays ours.
A stone pub on Castle Street with benches at the front and a sheltered yard behind that the landlord calls the yar-den. The inn describes itself as dog friendly and does bar food and B&B rooms, all en suite. It does not state whether dogs may stay in the bedrooms, so ask before booking.
A small riverside site on Morwick Road for tents, caravans and campervans, with a walkway down to the Coquet that suits an early dog walk. The site takes well-behaved dogs as a matter of course. Warkworth village and castle are a mile and a half north.
Two miles of dune-backed sand between the Coquet estuary and Birling Carrs, with a car park at the north end of the village and almost nothing else. Dogs are welcome in every month; no seasonal restriction applies. The dunes are fragile and grazed in places, so stick to the marked paths on the way through.
Nobody has written one for Bertram's Cafe and Courtyard. If you have been with the dog, you would be the first — and the first review is the one everybody reads.
