A corner pub on Victoria Street behind the university, kept almost exactly as it was laid out in 1931 and on CAMRA's national inventory of historic interiors. There is a tiny lounge snug with leaded glass and curved bench seating, a slightly larger main bar, and an angled corridor built for standing rather than sitting, so a large dog is easier in the snug than in the passage. Step-free entry is round the side from Convent Walk, and there is no kitchen beyond light snacks. CAMRA's branch surveyors record the pub as dog friendly; it publishes no policy of its own.
