A small traditional local at the seaward end of Queen Street in Withernsea, a two-minute walk from the inland lighthouse and the Kay Kendall museum in its base. There is cask ale on, recently including beers from Aitchesons of Yorkshire, plus board games, a bit of cosy outdoor seating, a car park yard and karaoke on Thursday afternoons. It is a drinking pub rather than a food pub, which suits a wet dog and a pair of sandy boots after the beach. Dogs are welcome with no area restriction recorded, on CAMRA branch evidence rather than the pub’s own words.
These are the parts only the business can add. We check the dog policy and stamp the date — photos, prices and their own words are theirs to put in, and this listing is waiting for them.
The fire, the snug, the water bowl by the door.
A few dishes and what they cost, so people arrive knowing.
Can the dog actually sleep here, and what does it cost.
Which rooms, which times, whether the whippet gets a biscuit.
Claiming fills every box above, and lets you reply to reviews when they open. £15 a month, no contract, and it never changes the verdict — the stamp stays ours.
