A touring park at Leeming Bar, close enough to the A1 for an easy overnight stop but set back from the road. Thirsk Tourist Information records that up to three dogs are permitted. The Wensleydale Railway station and the Bedale lanes are a short drive away.

ADD A PLACEHeritage railway running from Leeming Bar station on Leases Road up the dale to Leyburn, with stops including Bedale. Dogs travel for a one pound ticket and are welcome aboard the trains and in the station cafes, with wide, almost step-free carriage doors that suit less agile hounds. Hop off at Bedale and walk the beck before catching a later train back.

Local knowledge beats desk research every time. Name the place and we will check it properly — the venue's own policy, confirmed, then stamped and dated like every other listing.
