1 place on our list here — walks from the village. Every verdict below was checked by a human — the stamp shows when.
Six and a third miles of almost entirely quiet tarmac lane from Burrill through Bedale and back, about two and three quarter hours; unglamorous, but it is the walk to choose when every field in the vale is under water. Park considerately in Burrill, or start instead from Bedale market place, which has parking, toilets and a bus service. The verges are wide but these are working farm lanes with tractors and stock trailers, so a lead is sensible throughout, and there is little running water until Bedale Beck at the halfway point.
