Studley Royal Deer Park & Seven Bridges Valley

Three and a third miles and about an hour and a half around 300 acres of medieval deer park and along the River Skell through Seven Bridges valley, mostly flat with 80 metres of rise and wide surfaced carriage drives that stay walkable in the worst of the winter. Start from the Studley Roger gate at the end of the village lane west of Ripon, where entry to the deer park is free and open daily; the National Trust car park at the Studley Royal end has toilets and a cafe. Around 300 wild red, sika and fallow deer roam loose here, so dogs must be on a short lead at all times, with extra care during the October and November rut; water bowls and dog bins are provided across the estate.
