Kirklington · 1 checked & stamped
Boots on. These are the Kirklington walks worth the drive, with lead rules and livestock warnings marked.
Seven and three quarter miles of flat lanes, tracks and field paths from Kirklington past the Thornborough henges, an easy five and a half hours with only one stile and two gates to negotiate. Start at the north end of Kirklington's village green opposite the Black Horse, where there is limited free on-street parking and a very sparse bus service. The route passes the old Nosterfield quarry and the henge fields, which are grazed, but the long dry lane sections make this one of the better choices after a wet week and there is water in Healam Beck near the start.
