Keld · 1 checked & stamped
Boots on. These are the Keld walks worth the drive, with lead rules and livestock warnings marked.
A short two and a half miles taking in three waterfalls in an hour and a quarter, on grass and stone paths with one steep zigzag down to the Swale and a stretch of quiet lane up to Wain Wath Force. Start at the pay-and-display car park at the top of Keld, where the Pennine Way and the Coast to Coast cross; there is no bus and the nearest shop is Muker. The best short waterfall walk in Swaledale for an older dog, with easy shallow access to the river at East Gill and a deep pool below Wain Wath Force for swimmers, though the top of Catrake Force is unfenced and the fields either side of the lane carry sheep.

Local knowledge beats desk research every time. Name the place and we will check it properly — the venue's own policy, confirmed, then stamped and dated like every other listing.
One short email when we add places or a council changes its beach rules. No noise, easy out.
