Aiskew · 1 checked & stamped
Boots on. These are the Aiskew walks worth the drive, with lead rules and livestock warnings marked.
Four and a half miles around the outskirts of Bedale and Aiskew, almost entirely on pavements and surfaced paths with one low stile, and splittable at Bedale Beck bridge into a southern loop of about two and three quarter miles and a northern one of one and three quarter miles. Start at Bedale Leisure Centre on Firby Road; the red route is wheelchair friendly, though you may need to detour slightly for dropped kerbs around Sandhill Lane in Aiskew. This is the walk for a wet week or an elderly dog - hard surfaces throughout, water at the beck bridge and no field mud - and the one low stile is on the path near Big Sheep and Little Cow; it is pavement walking, so a lead is on for most of it.
