Ainderby Steeple · 1 checked & stamped
Boots on. These are the Ainderby Steeple walks worth the drive, with lead rules and livestock warnings marked.
A four-mile linear walk back into Northallerton on field paths, farm tracks and Myers Lane, taking around an hour and three quarters, with several stiles and a level crossing at the start. The trick is to catch the half-hourly Bedale bus out from Northallerton, get off at Ainderby Steeple by the church and walk home. Dolly Lane is the sting in the tail, a narrow rat-run with fast traffic and thin verges where a short lead is essential, and the field sections are working pasture with cattle.
