Thorpe Bassett · 2 checked & stamped
Somewhere to sleep that actually means "dogs welcome" — bowls out, no hidden surcharge surprises.
A single shepherd's hut for two in a paddock looking out over farmland at the foot of the Wolds, on the edge of Thorpe Bassett. Two dogs stay free, and the owners keep a portable enclosure of about four metres by five for use in the paddock, plus spare dog towels, blankets and bowls on request. The hut has an en-suite shower room, a log burner, a kitchenette and a wood-fired hot tub outside. The Yorkshire Wolds Way is a couple of miles south up the brow and Rillington is about ten minutes' walk for the nearest shop.
A two-bedroom self-catering cottage sleeping four, run by the same owners as the shepherd's hut on the same site at Thorpe Bassett. The point of difference for dog owners is the garden: their own listing says it has a secure fence, which is rare in this part of the Wolds and worth a lot if your dog cannot be trusted off a lead. Two dogs stay free of charge. There is a private hot tub and a three-night minimum stay.

Local knowledge beats desk research every time. Name the place and we will check it properly — the venue's own policy, confirmed, then stamped and dated like every other listing.
