A stone farmhouse converted into a single self-catering let on Manchester Road at Millhouse Green, two miles up the valley from Penistone, with open-beamed living space and a garden. The Trans Pennine Trail runs along the old Woodhead railway just below the village, and Langsett Reservoir and its woods are a short drive west, so a dog can be walked off the doorstep without touching a main road. The owners' own website says up to two well behaved dogs are welcome and names the Trans Pennine Trail and Langsett as the walks on hand. No dog charge is published and no restriction on which rooms dogs may use.
Four barn-conversion self-catering cottages on a working farm above Millhouse Green, two miles west of Penistone, sleeping between two and seven each and nineteen in total if you take the lot. They overlook the Trans Pennine Trail, which you can join on foot from the farm for the six miles up to Dunford Bridge or five miles down to Wortley. The owners publish a full written dog policy rather than a one-line claim, which is worth reading before you book because the conditions are specific. There is a large lawned garden, but it is not enclosed.
