The ever-popular Corfe Castle is home to the much-photographed castle ruins which are in the care of the National Trust. Within the village centre there is a great range of local amenities including pubs independent shops a grocery store and a bakery. The village is surrounded by rolling countryside including Corfe Castle Common which is criss-crossed with miles of footpaths through spectacular scenery. A steam railway line runs from Corfe Castle to Swanage (4 miles) and is a great way to visit this seaside town which boasts traditional amusements and a sandy beach. Other popular destinations are Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door both with in a 13.5-mile radius. Also easily accessible is Arne nature reserve (4 miles) The Tank Museum (9 miles) Studland (5 miles) and Monkey World (8 miles). A sloping path gives access into this single-story property. Once inside you are met with a welcoming hallway ideal for leaving muddy boots and coats. There is a useful separate WC too. Immediately to your right is a door to the stylish open-plan lounge/diner. This sociable space has a light and bright ambience and a comfortable seating area with a Smart TV. You will find space to dine just opposite. The contemporary kitchen is just along the hallway and is equipped with an electric range-style cooker fridge/freezer dishwasher microwave Nespresso coffee machine and washer/dryer. Heading back into the hallway will take you to the bedrooms. There are three to choose from: a pretty single a charming double and a spacious king-size bedroom with plenty of hanging space for your clothes. Completing the accommodation is a stylish bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. Heading outside via the kitchen you will find the garden. Mostly laid to lawn with established shrubs a large patio area garden furniture table for alfresco dining and a charcoal BBQ this is the perfect spot to enjoy a drink or a meal. To the front of the property is a driveway offering off-road parking for two cars. Located just a mile north of Dorset s Jurassic coast and four miles south of Corfe Castle the village of Worth Matravers is a splendid location for enjoying all that the Isle of Purbeck peninsula has to offer. In the village itself and within walking distance of the cottage a delightful tearoom is a great place to enjoy afternoon tea and is even open for evening meals on Saturday nights. The village pub meanwhile retains its original charm and has a pretty beer garden from where visitors can enjoy views towards the sea. To the east of the property within a ten-minute drive the seaside town of Swanage offers a sandy beach with a Victorian pier where visitors can hire deckchairs and enjoy ice creams from one of the sea-front shops. It is hard to imagine a property which better represents most people s idea of a picture-perfect country cottage and the owners have carefully preserved many of the original features to retain that charming cottage-feel. This sympathetic sense of style is clearly in evidence in the lounge an attractive room with wooden floors inviting sofas a warming wood burner and a beamed ceiling as well as a TV/DVD. The kitchen/diner too has been thoughtfully finished with a tiled floor farmhouse table and an excellent range of equipment including an oven hob microwave fridge and dishwasher whilst the freezer a second fridge and a washing machine can be found tucked away in a separate utility room which also has a WC and hand basin. The master king-size bedroom can also be found on the ground floor and has been finished to a very high standard with a beamed apex ceiling oak floorboards a seating area with a sofa and its own TV and even a wood burner all of which help to create a retreat-like feel to this beautiful space. A shower room with a shower and WC can also be found on the ground floor whilst a door from the kitchen opens onto traditional cottage stairs leading up to the three remaining bedrooms and family bathroom. The first of these is another king-size room again boasting its own seating area with a sofa armchair and a TV. The third bedroom is a smaller-sized yet nonetheless delightful double room whilst the fourth is a pretty twin room and the family bathroom has a free standing bath separate shower WC and hand basin The property enjoys a fantastic amount of outside space with generously-sized terrace patio with garden furniture and a BBQ area next to the cottage beyond which steps lead to an impressively large lawn where children can happily play to their heart s content. A separate walled courtyard can also be found alongside the cottage. There is parking for four to five cars available on the driveway.
