A late 18th-century roadside country pub on the A169 between Pickering and the Hole of Horcum, run by the Wood brothers since 2004, with panoramic moorland views and a sun-trap front terrace. Dogs are allowed in the bar, where locally sourced food and Yorkshire ales are served. Perfectly placed for walks into Dalby Forest and the Levisham valleys.
