The Coach and Horses, Chapeltown

S35 2XE
No reviews yet

A Craft Union local at 13 Station Road in Chapeltown, a couple of minutes from the railway station and the top of the Chapeltown Park path. The operator's own page for the pub says everyone is welcome, paws included, and lists water bowls and cosy corners inside as well as the beer garden behind. It is a straightforward community pub rather than a dining room, so there is no separate restaurant to be turned out of. The Trans Pennine Trail link and the walk down to Thorncliffe Wood both start close by.

The Commercial

S35 2XF
No reviews yet

An independent free house at 107 Station Road in Chapeltown, built in 1890 for the long-gone Strout's Brewery of Neepsend and still laid out as several small rooms round a central island bar. Step-free through the front doors and across the whole ground floor, with an accessible toilet, a real fire and its own car park, so it is one of the easier village pubs to bring an old dog into. Eight cask lines, homemade food and folk sessions upstairs. CAMRA's Sheffield branch surveyors record the pub as dog friendly; it publishes no policy of its own.

The Thorncliffe Arms

S35 1SF
No reviews yet

A Craft Union community local at 26 Burncross Road, on the Burncross side of Chapeltown above the old Thorncliffe ironworks. The operator's own dog-friendly page for the pub says everyone is welcome, paws included, and names water bowls and a welcome in the beer garden as well as inside the pub. It is a games-and-sport room rather than a dining one, with a dartboard, a pool table and screens, plus a car park and an accessible toilet. Chapeltown Park and the wooded path down to Thorncliffe are both a short walk, so muddy paws are expected here.
