Weymouth · 1 checked & stamped
Sand status, settled. Each beach carries its month ring — moss means go, rosehip means the council says no.
Three miles of graded golden sand curving round Weymouth Bay, the classic English seaside beach with donkeys and Punch and Judy. Dorset Council keeps two stretches open all year: the dog exercise area by the Pavilion, and everything from Greenhill Groyne north to Overcombe. The main sandy beach between Greenhill Groyne and the dog exercise area takes dogs from 1 October to 30 April only.
Know a Weymouth pub, cafe or place to stay that lets dogs in? Tell us and we will go and check it.
ADD A PLACEKnow one we have missed?
Local knowledge beats desk research every time. Name the place and we will check it properly — the venue's own policy, confirmed, then stamped and dated like every other listing.
One short email when we add places or a council changes its beach rules. No noise, easy out.
