A long shingle bank at the end of a dead-end road across the marshes, with the RSPB's gravel pits behind and enormous wader roosts on spring tides. No dog order applies, so dogs are welcome all year, but this is a wintering-bird site and the sensible thing is a lead near the pits. Very exposed, and all the better for it.
