Salcombe · 2 checked & stamped
Sand status, settled. Each beach carries its month ring — moss means go, rosehip means the council says no.
The inner and quieter of Salcombe's beaches, with a good stretch of sand at low water and the Winking Prawn behind it. North Sands carries no dog exclusion in the South Hams order, unlike South Sands a few hundred yards on, so it is the summer default for anyone in Salcombe with a dog.
The outer of Salcombe's two town beaches, with the sea tractor and ferry landing at one end. South Hams District Council operates a full twenty-four-hour dog ban here for the whole season, with one narrow exception for dogs crossing the sand on a lead to reach the ferry. This is the strictest beach order in the South Hams.

ADD A PLACEKnow one we have missed?
Local knowledge beats desk research every time. Name the place and we will check it properly — the venue's own policy, confirmed, then stamped and dated like every other listing.
One short email when we add places or a council changes its beach rules. No noise, easy out.
