Dog-friendly beaches in Kilnsea

The North Sea shore at Kilnsea, running north from the neck of Spurn past Beacon Ponds towards Easington, is shingle over sand backed by a low sea bank rather than a proper cliff, and no council dog order touches it. The East Riding of Yorkshire Council Public Spaces Protection Order lists Bridlington North, Bridlington South, Hornsea and Withernsea and nothing else, so there is no seasonal exclusion here at any time of year. The catch is not a council order but the birds: the shingle at Beacon Lagoons holds nesting little terns and ringed plover through the spring and early summer, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust signs mark where a lead is needed, and the reserve itself asks for dogs on leads. Park at the Kilnsea Wetlands car park on Easington Road and walk out over the bank. There is nothing here at all, which is the point.
