Riverside Marston's pub where the Wye meets the Derwent, with a caravan park behind and Peak Rail's Rowsley South station up the lane. Dogs are welcome in the bar and beer garden, and the pub keeps treats behind the bar for passing dog walkers. Named for the fishing fly, and the fishing is still the reason many people are here.

ADD A PLACEFour miles of preserved line between Rowsley South, Darley Dale and Matlock Riverside, worked by steam and heritage diesels. Well-behaved dogs travel free on all ordinary trains; the railway asks only that you keep them off the seats. Restrictions apply to the Santa and dining trains, so check before booking those.

Local knowledge beats desk research every time. Name the place and we will check it properly — the venue's own policy, confirmed, then stamped and dated like every other listing.
